Langtang Trek Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Kathmandu
Upon arrival at Kathmandu airport, after completing your custom Visa formalities, etc., pick up your luggage and look for our Himalaya Discovery airport representative who will display your name on the board at the arrival gate. Our representative will welcome you and transfer you to the hotel by private tourist vehicle.
Day 2: Drive to Syabrubesi (1,550m, 6-7 hrs)
We will start our drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubeshi after breakfast, which is about 145 km long and takes about 7 hours. We drive along Trishuli River’s scenic banks with beautiful views of valleys, pastures, rivers, and mountains. After arriving at the destination. We’re going to check-in and spend the night at the hotel.
Day 3: Trek to Lama Hotel (2,380m, (5 -6 hrs)
Langtang hiking begins at your own pace and the trail climbs through the timberland for about two hours, pursued by a move of about an hour to reach Bamboo town where you will stop for lunch. The path is enjoyable and you are pursuing the upstream and floating lives around the brambles can be seen. Another attraction for the visitors on the trek is the wild bee hives keeping a precipice close. From here you’re going to travel steeply through the backwoods of bamboo to reach the Lama hotel. Day 4: Trek to Langtang Village (3200m, 5 hrs)
You’ll have a charming walk today and finish the rhododendron trail and pine forests for about three hours to reach Ghoda Tabela where you’ll stop for lunch. Ghoda Tabela is surrounded by dense wild environment and homemade crops. After lunch, you walk along a lovely path that brings you to the city of Langtang where you can relax at night. As a top priority, the whole area of the Langtang village was devastated by huge earthquake disaster in 2015 April and after that, you will again be able to find the latest hotels with current cabin facilities. Day 5: Trek to Kyangjin Gompa (3,870m, approx. 3 hrs). Discover Kyangjin Ri (4500m)
Kyanjin Gompa is the last human inhabitant of your trek at 12,519 feet above sea level. You can see the great view of Mount Ganchempo and the panorama of Mount Langtang Lirung if the weather permits.
For a better panoramic view of the Langtang mountains, you can go hiking Kyangin Ri. You can visit the plant of Yak cheese, the monastery of Kyanjin and local buildings. Overnight at guesthouse.
Day 6: Trek back to Lama Hotel (2380m, 6 hrs)
Retrace the route from Kyangjin to the valley, follow the Langtang Khola to the village of Mundu and then to Ghora Tabela. Certainly, the descent will be faster than the ascent. After breakfast, continue the steep downhill to Lama Hotel. Overnight at guesthouse.
Day 7: Trek back to Syabrubesi (1550m, 5 hrs)
Continue to going back to Syabru Besi and enjoy the quiet forest hills. If you feel fit, take the spectacular route from Rimche via Sherpa Gaon to Syabru Besi; reaching the ultimate destination will take a long time, but it’s an amazing detour. Overnight at guesthouse.
Day 8: Drive to Kathmandu (1320m, 6-7 hrs)
After breakfast, catch a coach to return to Kathmandu. You will be taken to your hotel after you arrive in Kathmandu. You can spend the late afternoon walking around Thamel, Kathmandu’s major tourist destination. You can shop for your family and relatives at the last minute. In the evening, we will invite you to attend a farewell dinner with a cultural show.
Day 9: Fly to home.
Time to say goodbye to Nepal. Enjoy your last moments with breakfast in a café, a town walk and/or shopping for souvenirs in Kathmandu. A representative will meet you at your hotel for your return trip back and take you to the airport. It’s good to be at least two hours before arrival at the airport.
